Since I already talked about how great MegaloVania was in my last post, I decided to let this guy get some love. I just love how it evolves from this beautiful, minimalistic piece at the beginning to the furious, magnificent beauty it is by the end.
Gonna try and learn this one over the summer.
Andrew Hussie could replace the rest of the comic with the rest of Dirk’s rewrite of Pony Pals and I would be so okay with that.
This was a tough one since, as usual, I was torn between Aradia and Vriska. However, Aradia always manages to win out, even if only by a little.
Dave is pretty much everything I want to be comedically. I’m a huge fan of overly-dedicated sarcasm, and Dave has this pretty much down to a fucking science. The sheer deadpan-ness of his delivery is amazing and just adds to the sarcasm in such an amazing way. He gets all the best lines, nearly every single one of my favorite Homestuck quotes come from the guy.
From a writer’s perspective, he’s even more fascinating, not only due to his aforementioned quotability. Despite being portrayed as completely deadpan, Hussie still manages to establish character development, changing relationships, and even some emotions that manage to peer through his perfect lack of emotions, capitalization, and even punctuation.
Finally, he gave us Sweet Bro And Hella Jeff and my life would simply not be complete without that.
In other news, I was once on Omegle and saw a guy trying to RP as Dave. When I said “Dave” he responded, “thats my name dont wear it out.”
