I only had known Dimension Zero through their cover of Stayin’ Alive. It was an interesting thrash/melodeath take on the disco classic, and at roughly twice the speed. However, there was little to hang on to, almost nothing to follow, and not in the innovative way it is with something like Meshuggah, in a very listenable but somewhat unmusical way. Nonetheless, I bought the album. Unfortunately, that song ended up being a pretty good indicator for the rest of their music. The album is heavy. It is fast. It certainly gets the blood flowing, there’s no arguing against that. However, there is again nothing to follow, to hold onto. In the end, this is something I can listen to, but not something I will go out of my way to listen to. If I cannot remember one single moment from an album after listening, maybe that’s just because the album is unmemorable. Not bad, just unmemorable.
